Not exactly sure how five guys counts as a “Trio,” but they’ve gotta a good rendition of the Mario theme, so I’ll let it slide.

I hadn’t realized Battlestar Galactica Online had launched, though perhaps it hasn’t officially yet, as this may just be a public beta.  That said, the browser-based, free-to-play MMO has already crossed the two-million users mark, and the developers claim they’re making enough money to start focusing on new features and content.

I think I might have to check this out.  Anybody with me?

Page 2: Sony’s Credit Monitoring Offer Goes Live:

If you’re a PSN member in the United States, Sony has rolled out it’s offer for a year of free credit monitoring.  The service, AllClear ID PLUS, is run by Debix, and the offer is valid until June 28.

Sony’s been attacked multiple times. Square Enix, via Eidos and the Deus Ex website, has been hacked.  Last Pass has been hacked.  Even grocery stores are getting attacked.  If you can take advantage of this offer, it’s probably a good idea, even if you didn’t have much identifying information on PSN.

Ten bucks for a two-and-a-half-inch cube of lacquered dirt?  I’m not that addicted to Minecraft, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are buyers out there.

The Way of the Game – 70 – Still Filling Out Our Pants

Edit:  Something went wrong when the episode was uploaded.  The full version of the episode should be available now.

Well, we’re still here, which means we get to talk about video games some more.

Sam, as it turns out, likes to make things difficult for himself.  He’s discovered Forza 3 is far more lenient than he first thought, and also potentially far stickier.  On the same topic, Jonathan’s likely going to be trading in Gran Turismo 5 in favor of Forza 3, despite Forza being more pretentious than GT5.

Sam’s also finally broken into Batman: Arkham Asylum.  Finally!  Sam thinks Ezio could learn some combat tricks from the Bats, but that’s neither here nor there as Bats is on hold again in favor of L.A. Noire.  All three of the hosts have picked it up, and they have very different views on the game, with Sam, as usual, being wrong.

Jonathan’s also been playing Inside a Star-filled Sky, a new independent shoot-em-up featuring some interesting (and difficult to explain) recursive mechanics.

We cover headlines this week, meandering all over the place.

  • A proper list of links coming soon.

Finally, Sam wraps up the first round of season 3 of Name That Game with some sweet Nintendo love.

I’m betting Alex will approve of Madden titles being used in such a way.

During Ubisoft’s fiscal earnings call, CEO Yves Guillemot talked about Nintendo’s next console, claiming that it will be comparable to the 360 and PS3. “We will not have to redo completely the games we create.”
