Due to scheduling conflicts, the boys have only had a couple of days since Episode 102 was recorded, so game talk is light this week. That’s okay, though, because we’re bringing back the headlines!
What little gaming did we do? Alex tried to force himself through the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood finally, and fails to make it past Hitman: Blood Money‘s tutorial. Jonathan picked up and started playing Space Marine, and found that the atmosphere is fantastic, but the difficult spikes are irritating. Sam, meanwhile, busts out a Skyrim dragon story, and talks up ODST with Brad and William Pall.
In the headlines this week, we’ve got protests, lawsuits, delays, leaks, and hacks.
- ESA Drops Support for PIPA, SOPA
- EA Invokes First Amendment Protection for Video Games in Trademark Dispute with Helicopter Maker
- XCOM FPA Pushed to 2013, Firaxis Strategy Reboot Still Set for 2012

- BioShock Infinite 1999 Mode for System Shock Fans

I would like to hear your opinions on the “used game industry” dying out with the age of digital distribution. It’s believed next gen console will used the same model that Steam has going on PC games.
You’re reading our minds. It won’t be in the next episode (that’s our year-end review), but in 105 we’re planning on talking about the rumors around the next Xbox having some sort of used-game-prevention scheme.
Hey Guys,
Love the show, but I had to admit I saw red for a second when you guys were talking about the Helicopter lawsuit. When Sam said that Bell should be happy it got free advertising, I lost brain cells. Nowhere in the history of video gaming would someone be playing a game, see how a helicopter looks and say to themselves, “hm, that’s a really nice helicopter. Maybe that’s the one I’ll purchase on Saturday when I’m out shopping for them.” Wait, what? I’m glad you called it a stretch, Jonathan when he elaborated that it might lead to someone wanting to work/fly one of them someday. That’s a Mr. Fantastic stretch indeed.
Not sure how I feel about the topic itself. I’m guessing Forza has to license those cars it uses, so maybe there is a point regarding the helicopter. That is a slippery slope, though.
Anyway, keep up the good work.
Sweet!
I really like your show. I listen to it at work and you guys always help my day go faster.
