Controversial. Racist. Propaganda. Epic. Masterpiece.  The Birth of a Nation is said to fit all of these.  I hate the idea of having to put a disclaimer on anything that might offend someone.  So I won’t. “That it is a mirror of its time is, sadly, one of its values.”
